Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Nu Gamma Omega Chapter, in partnership with the Nu Gamma Omega Educational & Charitable Foundation, proudly hosted an exciting STEM Exploration Day on Saturday, October 25, 2025 — and what an incredible turnout! 

Over 150 students and families joined us to dive into the power of robotics, drones, mathematics, slime-making, volcano eruptions, and so much more! 

A huge thank you to our amazing partners — including DOW, Capitol Elementary School, Southern University and A&M College Science Department, and many others — for helping us inspire the next generation of innovators.

From service to sisterhood, NGO continues to lead with heart as we empower youth to dream big and explore their future in STEM!

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Nu Gamma Omega Chapter, continues its legacy of advocacy and civic engagement with the upcoming Voter Education Forum, part of its Advocates for Social Justice Initiative – The Pink & Green Powerhouse.

Set for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the event will be held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library Branch, located at 7711 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70806, in the large conference room. A community mixer will kick off the evening from 5:30 to 6:00 PM, followed by the forum from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

This informative session is designed to empower and educate voters across Baton Rouge, emphasizing that every voice and every vote truly matter. Attendees will gain valuable insights into key local initiatives and community resources, including:

• The Thrive East Baton Rouge proposal
• The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging
• The East Baton Rouge Parish Library System
• Mosquito Abatement and Rodent Control efforts

Through thoughtful discussion and civic awareness, the Nu Gamma Omega Chapter seeks to ensure that residents remain informed, engaged, and ready to vote.

As election season approaches, this forum provides an essential space for community members to learn more about the issues shaping Baton Rouge — and how they can make their voices heard at the ballot box.
